A Louisiana college student made an honest mistake when she applied for summer classes - in Utah.

Kaitlynn Lovelady - a student at the University of Lousiana - applied to SLCC for summer classes on Wednesday, thinking it was South Louisiana Community College. However, it turns out that she really applied to Salt Lake Community College in Utah.

Lovelady tweeted a short blurb about her mistake on Twitter, which immediately became viral.

As it gather attention on social media, Utah's SLCC replied to Lovelady that as welcoming as they are, they're willing to refund her $40 application fee if she decides to go to Louisiana's SLCC.

Hilarity ensued around Lovelady's simple mistake, as both Louisiana and Utah natives chimed in with their thoughts on which state was the best.

Even the Acadia Parish Chamber of Commerce in Crowley, Louisiana, chimed in, stating "Sorry, Utah. You can't have our Louisiana girl!"

Utah Lt. Gov. Spencer Cox also joined in the conversation.

Lovelady later tweeted on Friday that she would consider attending Utah's SLCC this summer if someone would pay for her plane tickets.

2News has reached out to Lovelady to get more details about her side of the story.
