Man airlifted to safety from raging Kern River

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) – A man has been rescued from the raging Kern River in southern California.
Emergency crews used a helicopter to airlift the man Monday evening from a rock in the middle of the river, about a mile east of the mouth of the canyon.
The man didn't appear to be injured when he got to shore.
