PORTLAND, Ore. – The two-time world champion Rose City Rollers are heading into the World Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) competition this November, looking to defend their title and take home the Hydra Trophy for a third consecutive year.

The Rose City Rollers’ top team – the Wheels of Justice – swept the division 1 playoffs in Seattle earlier this month.

Portland’s domination in the playoffs put them as the top-seeded team at the International WFTDA Championships in Philadelphia early in November.

“Now that we’ve achieved back-to-back championship wins, the heat is on,” said Wheels of Justice captain Elicia Nisbet-Smith. “We know our top competitors will be analyzing our playoffs games, but we now have plenty of time to refine our strategies and have new plays ready by the time championships comes around.”

The Rose City Rollers will have some upcoming bouts for anyone hoping to catch up on Portland’s different derby teams before the WFDTA championship tourney.
