Quakers prepare for Friday night kickoff on their new field
PORTLAND, Ore. – KATU’s High School Blitz kicks off Friday night. The Franklin High School Quakers are hoping to make the highlights as they open the season on their new football field.
The Quakers take on the South Eugene Axemen at 7 p.m.
Before the kickoff, there will be an opening night celebration at 6:30 p.m.
Franklin High School’s new field is rotated so the end zones are on the north and south ends. This means the players won’t be staring into the sun.
The school is planning a grand re-opening ceremony on Saturday with a ribbon cutting and open house.
