Meteorologist Allison Gutleber is excited to be a part of the KATU team as the Weekend Meteorologist and a Multimedia Journalist.
Allison was raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where her love for weather began after a Broadcast Meteorologist visited her eighth-grade class. During her time in high school, she joined the morning broadcast team. Allison attended The Pennsylvania State University and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Meteorology and Atmospheric Sciences. While at Penn State, she gained experience presenting weathercasts for the local television show and hosted the live broadcast for Penn State’s Dance Marathon “THON.”
Allison started her career in Toledo, Ohio forecasting severe thunderstorms, extreme winter weather, and tornadoes. She kept viewers safe during the severe weather outbreak of March 31 - April 1, 2023, which ranked as the third largest tornado outbreak on record in the United States. This outbreak also ranked third for producing the most tornadoes in a 24-hour period.
Additionally, she forecasted and presented weathercasts for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Pennsylvania and Flint, Michigan each morning while in Toledo.
When Allison is not forecasting the weather, she enjoys sewing, keeping up with the latest fashion trends, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
Feel free to say hello and welcome her to the beautiful state of Oregon. Follow her on social media to stay up to date with the recent weather updates. If you have a story idea, reach out to her by email at angutleber@sbgtv.com or through social media.
