Barry Mangold is a general assignment reporter and the weekend evening anchor. You can watch Barry’s reports Wednesday and Thursday, and anchor the 5, 6, and 11 p.m. newscasts on Saturday and Sunday.
Before Barry joined KATU in January 2023, he worked in Oklahoma City and Columbia, Missouri. His reporting has covered corruption in state and local governments, communities rebuilding after a tornado, gun violence, and much more.
At KWTV in Oklahoma, Barry contributed to weather coverage that won an Edward R. Murrow award for ‘Best Newscast.’ In Missouri, Barry earned multiple awards for his reporting from the Missouri Broadcasters Association.
Barry graduated from the University of Virginia with a degree in Media Studies. While in Charlottesville, he was a member of the varsity swim team, coached the club swim team, and helped lead the student broadcast club WUVA.
Born and raised in Maryland, near Washington D.C, Barry is grateful to be exploring the Pacific Northwest and telling stories that matter to communities in Oregon and Washington.
