Frances Lin

Frances Lin joined the KATU news team in October 2021 as a General Assignment Reporter.

Born in Oxford, Mississippi, Fran moved back to her hometown of Taipei, Taiwan at just two months old. She grew up in Taipei and moved back to the U.S. at the age of 18 to attend the University of California, Davis.

Fran most recently spent 4 years in Springfield, Missouri as a General Assignment Reporter before moving back to the west coast—something she’s always wanted! She loves the Pacific Northwest and is honored to be a part of the Portland community.

As a professional skydiver, Fran likes to spend her free time jumping out of airplanes for fun. She also enjoys pop music, watching movies, cooking, and playing with her 5 lb. Pomeranian, Bubbles.
